Dr Jacob Martin

Jacob is a materials scientist and nanotechnologist working on climate-stabilising technologies. Jacob has a passion for communicating science and has been involved in public lectures for TEDx, Pint of Science festivals, Climate Change Conferences and nanoart exhibitions. Jacob is a trained physicist, chemist and chemical engineer and completed his PhD at the University of Cambridge in 2019. In 2020 he was a Research Fellow at the Cambridge Centre for Carbon Reduction in Chemical Technology in Singapore, working with industry to decarbonise. In 2021 he was awarded a Forrest Fellowship in the Department of Physics and Astronomy, Curtin University in Perth, Australia and in 2024 became lecturer and group leader of the Curtin Carbon Group working on advanced carbon materials for decarbonisation.
