Ms Kirsten Fredericksen

Kirsten is the Communications Lead, SKA & Site Entity for Inyarrimanha Ilgari Bundara, the CSIRO Radio-astronomy Observatory, meaning she gets to talk about mega-science and giant high-tech telescopes in the outback for a living. It also means she has the privilege to work closely with the Wajarri Yamaji People to help share their stories and language world-wide, highlighting their key role in enabling astronomy in Western Australia as Traditional Owners and native title holders of the observatory site. With over 15 years experience in science communication, outreach and education, Kirsten is passionate about good stories and sharing the wonders of the Universe as a gateway to further STEM engagement.
